The Cathedral Center
                       Cathedral City, California
Mission Statement

A non-profit, The Cathedral Center is conveniently located within the Tierra del Sol housing complex in Cathedral City, California, near the Cathedral City Civic Center in Southeast Coachella Valley. The beautiful facility has spacious kitchens, a relaxing swimming pool, well-organized activity and meeting rooms, plus well-maintained grounds.

Through our on-going Outreach Program, The Cathedral Center offers a variety of much-needed activities and services which include social, recreational, educational and health-related programs to over 1,000 outreach clients and over 30,000 other people who are directly involved with the Center.

The extensive list of services also includes a bilingual social service, healthcare referral assistance, and processing renters/home-owner utility rebate assistance. Since the beginning in 1980, The Cathedral Center could not be possible without grants, endowments and volunteers. The generosity and support of numerous benefactors and members allow The Cathedral Center to continue, to expand programs, and to develop specialized activities for the needs of our community. The Cathedral Center has staff members instructors who coordinate our activities, programs and events. The Cathedral Center is staffed Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, however, there are a multitude of daily activities, including evening programming, seven days a week.

The Cathedral Center was nominated for the $10,000 Humana Starlight Award in October 2011 for the Mobile Food Pantry Program and honored as one of the top 40 innovative programs in California by the California Commission On Aging with a grant funded from SCAN Health Plan, plus the first selected for 2012 as a recipient of the Burger Foundation's grant of $25,000.

The Cathedral Center won the prestigious "Non-Profit of The Year 2012 Orion Award" and Judie Stone, The Cathedral Center's Program Director, was named "Volunteer of the Year 2012" by the City of Cathedral City. The Center was also nominated for the Humana Award for the Mobile Food Pantry.
